The point of this table is the lift. Most overbed tables need a knob wound or a lever held, which rules them out for a client with weak grip or only one hand free. The CareTek Easy Lift uses a compression lock: raise the top and it rises, let go and it holds where it was left. Someone in bed can set it themselves, one handed.
It rolls on lockable twin wheel castors and the base slides under most beds and recliners, so the table comes to the client rather than the other way round. The frame is powder coated steel in off white with a laminated top that wipes down, which keeps it looking like furniture rather than ward equipment.
It suits clients who spend long periods in bed or a recliner and need meals, a laptop or medication within reach: people recovering at home after discharge, palliative clients, and residents in aged care. The one handed lift is what makes it work for people with limited grip or reach.
