The NXT BioFit does two jobs at once: it protects skin and it holds a sitting position. High-density foam carries the load, and a smartGEL infused viscoelastic layer on top takes the heat out of the interface over a long day.
The positioning comes from the shape rather than from add-on wedges. A pre-ischial shelf stops the pelvis sliding forward, the radius-cut rear gives sacral clearance, and a moderate abductor and adductor contour keeps the thighs in line. A bevelled front edge keeps pressure off the back of the knees. Perforations are placed under the pelvis where they do the most good.
The smartx3D cover is a three-layer, moisture-wicking, four-way stretch antimicrobial polyester with a waterproof zip, and the non-slip base carries loop fastener so the cushion stays where it is put. Inner and outer covers are included, with fluid-proof and air mesh covers available.
Who it suits
A wheelchair user with reduced sensation, a history of pressure injury or poor pelvic stability who needs both pressure redistribution and a defined sitting position, for example after spinal cord injury or with a neurological condition. Match the cushion width to the seat width of the chair.
