This is the cushion to reach for when the position you need is not the position the catalogue sells. It is filled with polystyrene granules inside a cotton inner bag, so it moulds to whatever it is placed against: under the head to fill cervical lordosis, between the knees, under an arm to reduce swelling, or behind the trunk to hold a semi-lateral position.
Because the granules move freely, the cushion keeps working as the client shifts, and it spreads load across the whole contact area. A velcro sealed pocket lets you add or take out granules until the firmness suits the client, and replacement granule bags are available when the fill settles over time.
It is often used after hip replacement to discourage adduction, and for general pressure care around the back of the head. The antibacterial outer cover unzips for washing, with a frotte cover option for single client use.
