A client who can take some weight through their legs but cannot stand safely on their own sits in an awkward spot. The Invacare Stand Assist sling is made for exactly that client, working with an active stand aid lifter to bring them to standing while they contribute what they can.
That participation is the point. Coming to stand loads the legs, helps with bowel and bladder function, makes toileting and clothing management easier, and keeps a transfer skill in daily use. For the carer it is a quicker and more controlled movement than a full body lift.
The sling is polyester fabric with colour coded loops, wraps around the trunk, and comes in four sizes. It washes at commercial temperatures for shared use.
The client needs some weight bearing capacity and the ability to follow the movement, so check that before you prescribe.
