The Max Mobility Alpha WC-ALH is a straightforward single-point adjustable cane for clients who need light support and can bear weight through the hand. The aluminium shaft adjusts over a wide range, so one cane covers most adults.
The handle is made by double-injection moulding, which bonds a soft grip layer to a firm core rather than gluing a cover on, so it will not peel or twist with use. A rubber ferrule is fitted and replacements are easy to get. Six colours are available, and an optional wrist strap and cane holder fit this model.
Who it suits
A client with mild balance or one-sided weakness, for example after a knee or hip replacement or with early arthritis. Set the height so the handle sits at the wrist crease with the arm relaxed. A client who leans heavily or has a painful grip does better with a quad base cane or an arthritic palm-shaped handle such as the Alpha WC-AAL.
