Children outgrow back supports faster than funding cycles allow. This one has a sliding growth mechanism built into the shell, so height can be let out as the child grows without replacing the padding or re-prescribing the whole support.
The Spex Classic padding is contourable: cubes sit behind the cover and can be added, moved or taken out to shape the surface to an asymmetric trunk, build support around a curve, or relieve a bony prominence. Adjustments are made in the clinic in front of the client, so you can set it, sit the child back in and check your work.
Who it suits
It suits growing clients with asymmetric or changing postures, and prescribers who want a support that will still fit at the next review. A rigid T insert can be added or removed as trunk control changes, and harness guides are built in for a chest harness or shoulder straps.
