About this product

This is the mobile hi-lo base for the Rifton HTS. It carries the HTS seat frame over a toilet or into a shower, and it is the part that decides how the routine feels for the carer.

Height is set with a foot pedal that can be reached from either side, so a transfer from bed or wheelchair happens at matching heights instead of being lifted. Gas assisted tilt-in-space brings the client forward for transfers and toileting posture, or back for rest and washing. The seat slides forward and back on the base without tools, and the frame is powder coated stainless steel on four twin castors, built for wet areas and hose-downs. Assembly and disassembly need no tools at all.

Who it suits

A child or adult with significant physical disability who is toileted and showered by carers, needs tilt to stay positioned, and needs the working height raised to protect carers’ backs. If the client only needs a shower commode at one height, the non-tilt mobile base is simpler and lighter, and the stationary frame suits a fixed toilet position.

Good to know

  • Base only: the HTS seat frame (small, medium or large) and pads are ordered separately
  • Small and medium seats share one base size; the large seat needs the large base
  • Maximum working load follows the seat size: 34 kg small, 68 kg medium, 113 kg large, footboard limited to 68 kg
  • Check the toilet height and clearance around it against the base at its lowest setting
