Sheepskin heel protectors for a client lying in bed, where the heel carries a large share of body weight on a small area of skin and has almost no soft tissue to protect it. These slip over the heel and stay put, cushioning the contact and reducing the friction that tears fragile skin when someone slides up and down the bed.
They are made from high density woven wool, so there is real depth of pile doing the pressure redistribution. Wool absorbs a large share of its weight in moisture vapour without feeling damp, and the air held between the fibres lets heat and moisture escape, which keeps the skin under the protector in better condition through a long day in bed.
The fabric backing means they wash at high temperature, so they can be laundered properly between clients or after an incident. Supplied as a pair in three widths.
