Some clients slide, some clients push, and a two point belt ends up riding into the abdomen or twisting on the frame. The Spex four point padded hip belt answers that by adding a second pair of straps: the main straps set the belt position and the subordinate straps anchor it there.
The result is a belt that holds its line across the pelvis through movement, tone and transfers. That matters for enhanced positioning needs, where the pelvis has to stay seated in the cushion for the trunk and head supports above it to do their job.
Tensioning is by centre pull, so the user or carer pulls the strap away from the buckle, which is easier to reach and easier to manage. Cushioned pads with soft edge binding keep it comfortable, ridge woven webbing grips once set, and stainless steel adjusters do not slip. It is a positioning device only and is not intended as a vehicle restraint.
