Night is the longest posture of the day. The Dreama is a modular sleep system for a client whose body drifts into the same asymmetric position every night, and who is at risk of the hip, spine and chest changes that follow.
Who it suits
It works for children from around nine months through to adults, and is commonly used with cerebral palsy, spinal muscular atrophy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis and after stroke or trauma. It is not intended for someone who walks and is not able to judge their own ability to get in and out of it safely.
The system is built from individual foam cushions that clip into an aluminium base, so you shape the lying surface around the client without a fixed mould. Cushions can be moved or removed during the night without waking the person, which is the difference between a plan that holds and one the family abandons by week three. Air moves between the cushions, and every cover comes off on its own for cleaning.
