Where a client needs their shoulders held in a set position, a static Y-harness keeps the correction exactly where you put it. The single centre strap splitting to the shoulders keeps the chest and abdomen clear, which helps with breathing, feeding, stoma access and simply staying cool.
Holding the setting also makes the harness easy for carers. There is nothing to re-tune each morning, so the client is positioned the same way whoever is on shift, and a support coordinator is not fielding calls about a support that has drifted.
Laminated neoprene pads the shoulder straps, hinged buckles keep them tracking at the angle the chair hardware sits, and finger loops let one person adjust from behind the chair. Chair attachment hardware is supplied and there are three sizes.
